With the closing of spring and graduation season coming to an end, the celebration of summer is right around the corner. Living in San Diego real estate leaves residents with ample of opportunities for fun. There are a plethora of things to do in San Diego for all ages, from visiting the San Diego Zoo and Safari Park or venturing through SeaWorld or walking through Balboa Park . events in San DiegoOne of the free summer events in San Diego worth checking out is the 36th Annual Ocean Beach Street Fair & Chili Cook-off. This takes places June 27rd and will feature over 200 vendors. There will be a host of local artists, a variety of food trucks, Beachside Beer Garden & Spirits and live entertainment at five separate stages. This event always brings in over 65,000 visitors. The Chili Competition involves 24 tastings from amateur critics. Awards entrants can win are the Hottest Chili, Judge’s Award, and the People’s Choice Award. Other fun games include the Ocean Beach-opoly Themed Memory Game or the Bicycle Raffle. You can even help create an annual Street Fair Community Mural. This event goes from 10 am to 8 pm.

TGIF Concerts in the Parks is a concert series that takes place June 26 through August 21 at several parks. These parks include Poinsettia Community Park, Alga Norte, Stagecoach Community Park and Calavera Hills Community Park. It runs every Friday from 6 pm to 8 pm. Come support your local artists in North County. There is a wide range of music, from jazz and swing music to modern music. This year the city of Carlsbad celebrate 30 years of hosting this event. The concerts will also have food vendors and hands-on art activities. The City of Carlsbad Cultural Arts Office presents this events. Events in San Diego don’t get any better than supporting young musicians.

Kick off the summer May 30 through May 31 with the Fiesta del Sol at Fletcher Cove in Solana Beach. This is another one of the free summer events in San Diego that boasts 2 days of music and crafts. This is the 36th Annual Celebration hosted by the Solana Beach Chamber of Commerce. The Belly Up Tavern in Encinitas has lined up a fantastic list of artists to perform. The Cedros Design District will be celebrating also and will have shopping specials and live music as well. Food trucks and beer and wine gardens will be available as well as an Arts & Crafts area and Children’s Play area with rides, games and a climbing wall. This event will take place from 9 am to 9 pm.

Other free events in San Diego worth checking out include visiting any of the 33 parks along the coastline or the Batiquitos Lagoon to watch birds, plants and fish. There is also the La Jolla Cove where you can watch sea lions and look closely at tadpoles. If you want to get exercise hiking at Mt. Laguna or Torrey Pines State Reserve are wonderful ways to get fresh air with beautiful views.
