The fall season is upon us and although the San Diego weather doesn’t leave much room for seasonal change, we can still embrace the seasonal spirit with a variety of special events. Fall events in San Diego are nothing short of spectacular. From grape stops and apple harvests to street parties and festivals, San Diego events offer a plethora of celebrations to bring families and neighbors together for the season.

Step back into time as downtown San Diego’s Gaslamp turns into the 1880’s culture it once was. You’ll immerse yourself in the rich history of the western town. Three blocks will feature various activities and demonstrations such as gold panning and blacksmith shows. There will be food, live music, kid crafts and food contests. This event is held November 9th from 11 am to 4 pm on Island and Fourth Avenues. The best part is it’s free to attend!

Oceanside Harbor Days starts tomorrow and goes on until Sunday. Come enjoy the sun, sand and surf with the North County locals. There are plenty of fun activities, food, vendors and of course a sandcastle competition! You can also enjoy arts and crafts, the Nail n Sail Competition, public safety displays and live music. This event is also free and is from 9 am to 6 pm and on Sunday from 9 am to 5 pm. Fall events in San Diego occur all over the county. No matter where you live in the county you can celebrate the fall season.

For fantastic fall events in San Diego check out the Encinitas Fall Festival. This lovely relaxed beach town located along Highway 101 will present a weekend of fun for the whole family. You can relish in the vintage surf atmosphere that encompasses Encinitas. There will be over 450 vendors with fun displays. Live music will be on two stages at the Lumberyard Courtyard. Children can also bask in the greatness of rides at the Kids Zone. There will also be a Dog Zone for those who bring their furry friends. Adults can enjoy a beer garden with your local brews. This event is Sunday, November 22 from 9 am to 4 pm.

Don’t miss out on the all the fall events in San Diego. No matter your interests, you are sure to find something to delight your senses. If you’re looking to get away, but not take a big trip, Julian in East County features the Julian Fall Apple Harvest and the Julian Apple Days Festival. Get out into the country and watch the harvest. What better way to bring in the new season than surrounding yourself with crisp air, the smell of apple pie and colorful mountains.
