Every summer all along the coast in San Diego County from Oceanside to Coronado, your kids can be a junior lifeguard and learn about ocean safety, while having fun in the sun. Junior lifeguard programs are for kids ages 9 to 17. They are instructed by a certified lifeguard. You can pick from a variety of sessions and camp lengths from 3 to 5 hour days for a month or shorter. Kids will be educated on the beach environment and ocean safety as well as play games and partake in competition day with run-swim-run races and paddle relays.

If your kids are into baseball, they’re in luck because at PETCO Park families can visit the Park in the Park area to watch the game. This is the perfect place to gather the family on the lawn and have a picnic while watching the game. Kids can run around instead of being confined to the seats. There is a tot lot and a kid-sized baseball field. Come support the Padres this season with a family-friendly experience. Tickets range in price from $10 to $17, while kids under 36-inches are free.

Movies in the Park is one of the great summer activities for kids. This is also one of the free things to do in San Diego this summer.  There are 117 screenings for families all over the San Diego area. No matter where you live in San Diego real estate, you can enjoy this fun event. Movies usually start around dusk, so pack a dinner and grab blankets and lawn chairs and get cozy in the park.
